6’2”, 31 y/o male. SW 338, CW 282. When I started, I was sometimes dropping 5lb/week. I went from a 44 waist to a 38 waist in 2.5 months.
Over the past month, progress has slowed a lot and I’ve been getting frustrated. But you know what? That’s okay.
July saw me graduate from walking 5 miles to running 1, walking 4. Then run 2 walk 2. Then last week, I ran a 5k at a low 12-minute/mile pace.
Yesterday I ran 2 miles at low 11-minute/mile pace.
The whole month of July I only lost seven pounds, but I’m trying to remind myself that’s okay. That’s a normal rate to lose and I just have to keep up with the good habits I’ve built over the past several months.
I’m now Obese, not Severely Obese as I was when I started, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I’ve always been a big guy, I will probably never be that optimal weight of 190 but you know what?
I can hike all day and enjoy it. I look forward to going on a walk or a run. I don’t deny myself food I want, I just manage portions. I can keep up with my daughter
I’m building a better life, and that happens one brick at a time.
